On April 22, 2015, Fr. Wegner (SSPX U.S. District Superior) wrote a fund-raising letter to the faithful, seeking money for St. Joseph’s in Armada Michigan. Here is a link to his letter, if you care to read it.
Here is a response to Fr. Wegner, from a Catholic Candle reader:
Dear Catholic Candle,
HomeLet's review where we have been and where we are going:
sinking and cracking foundations have led to uneven floors, leaking windows, and sagging doors, etc., etc. Sounds like neglecting regular maintenance has consequences. It looks like SSPX would rather spend more for building new, than pay less for regular maintenance. To name a few of the Society's expensive projects: it currently has a $2,000,000 project in Michigan, a massive endeavor in Phoenix, and a
Taj Mahalseminary in Virginia.
I do have a suggestion to increase revenue, that's sure to work. It always has, if you are on His side. I'll paraphrase here:
Seek ye first to promote the Kingship of Christ and reject Operation Suicide, and all will be given unto you.
The SSPX has been so busy promoting Operation Suicide that Our Lord's promise never comes to mind:
Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His justice, and all these things shall be added unto you. (St. Matthew, 6:33).
I have no trouble knowing where I can give, in order to fight for Catholic tradition and against Operation Suicide:
Holy Cross Monastery, Brazil,
Inc.
223 West Jackson Blvd., Suite
615
Chicago, Ill. 60606
And it's tax deductible.
P.S. I wonder if the SSPX is counting on Rome for money after a deal is made? No, on second thought, they don't really believe that because of their obsession with money ever since Operation Suicide became a goal and income fell way off.
